Reducing livestock emissions
We’re working with farmers, industry and other researchers, to explore how we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions in livestock industries while increasing productivity. Almost 70% of the Australian agriculture sector’s emissions come from livestock (including cattle, sheep, goats and pigs). This video shows how our researchers are studying cattle methane emissions to help farmers and land managers understand how they can reduce them. Using dietary and gut microbe improvements, high-tech measurement technology and different stock management methods, scientists hope to establish cheap and simple methods to reduce livestock methane emissions and improve productivity. This research is part of our effort to help Australia reduce the causes of climate change and adapt to future climate conditions. It was funded by CSIRO, the Australian Government Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry and Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA). Footage for this video was contributed by MLA and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). More information: www.csiro.au www.csiro.au
CO2 has Friends 2011
This geological perspective looks at the impact of volcanic cycles and man’s activities on global dimming, global cooling and global warming. Importance of nanoparticles, the “Soot Period” and other greenhouse gases, not just CO2.
Global Warming – Fact or Fiction.wmv
Is man the cause of the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? Is carbon dioxide a greenhouse gas? Is the climate warming? A brief look at black body radiation and the infrared spectrum.

Cat Generator Sets: How Renewable Landfill Energy Works
Modern landfills are required to install gas collection systems to capture and destroy the methane gasses that are naturally produced within a landfill. These gases are burned in a flare. Rather than eliminating landfill gas by simply burning it off, Caterpillar can help you turn it into a renewable fuel by providing gas-fueled engine-generators that can produce electric power from landfill gas. Blowing Solar Smoke Up Your Carbon Footprint? CO2 – Methane – Nitrous Oxide!
“Unless we change our food choices, nothing else matters.” -Maneka Gandhi We could have as little as 1 decade left to get it together before we reach a possible, and highly probable, critical environmental tipping point of no return! For anyone who thinks this short time-line is extreme, please realize that at the beginning of our industrial age, Rainforests covered 14% of our planet’s landmass, and in 2004 the estimate was less than 6%, declining at a rate of 30-50+ million acres a year! Since the 1970′s 90+% of Amazon Rainforest deforestation has been, and still is, from meat and dairy (MAD) consumption! This is just the tip of the melting iceberg concerning the true “costs” of our MAD (meat and dairy) consumption! Ⓥ Mother Nature is telling us that we will be Vegan (humans’ natural diet) or we will no longer be – epidemic levels of mental and physical disease, and environmental devastation! At this point of our evolution, humans are anatomically and physiologically Herbivore/Frugivore (Plant-Based Diet) – no matter what we have been told/sold to believe: vitalveda.wordpress.com twitter.com veganzeitgeist.wordpress.com https If we want Peace in our World – Hearts-Minds-Bodies-Souls – why would we create and consume violence!?
