Is 1998 significant or is it an "outlier" – was it El Nino, Global Warming, or both?
Remember 1999 and 2000? Back then, the AGW proponents consider the record warmth of 1998 to be evidence in their favor concerning the climate a decade ago. How can they now argue that the fact that it hasn’t warmed SINCE 1998 is irrelevant to the climate today?
"Each month in 1998 has broken historical records for global land and ocean temperatures. Contrarian scientists blame El Nino; Canadian climate modeling expert Andrew Weaver replies that El Nino itself may be a symptom of a climate shifting under the greenhouse gas burden."
-Adbusters, Journal of the Mental Environment, Winter, 1999
Ottowa – I engage in the "debate" because once a question is closed, what you posted is up here for perpetuity. That holds them to the positions they argue now. Over time, their arguments shift – what they say now contradicts what they said years ago and will contradict what they will say years from now.
Is this a good essay ?
No one can deny the dangers that pollution causes to our life in many ways, scientists and authors has written many reports about pollution, pollution types, and how pollution effects on our world but no one puts it in consideration neither the community nor the government, so we have to look in this problem seriously and work hard to reach to a solution because if we neglected it, we will have to bear the consequences and dangers resulting from this pollution.
When we look in the causes of pollution we will find that the main reason is the industrial wastes. The second reason is the smoke that comes out from the vehicles we use for transportation. If we look in the past we will see that pollution didn’t exist this is because there were no factories and no transportation to cause pollution.
There are many types of pollution, each one of them has a different effect on our life such as, it causes cancer and reduces energy levels, contribute to raising the rate of global warming and can negatively affect the livestock, so we must be honest with ourselves to face this disaster.
As we see we should work hard to get a solution to prevent or to reduce pollution today such as avoid smoking or at least follow the "no smoking" sign. Use unleaded gasoline in your vehicles; avoid public parties and concerts that need a huge amount of noise to make it, to avoid the noise pollution. Government has to raise awareness in the society to discuss the reasons, effects and solutions of the pollution.
In conclusion we should be more aware and follow the rules and try to preserve our environment as in the past by increasing the size of area of agriculture.
Can anyone help write it better, or add details please ? ![]()
Can Global Warming save us?
Today at my school, a expert news guy from the weather channel came to talk about Global Warming. AND, he said because scientists took some carbon dioxide from the air and it got colder when they put it back. So, he said that if he’s right, that Global Warming can save us.
Strange Lines in London Sky
Chemtrails directed over Watford Town, all similar length and parallel spaced apart by grid design !!! Geo-Engineering !!! Chemtrails Are: Persistent lines of chemical-infused aerosol spray dispersals, which contain active human pathogens. People across the world are noticing planes crossing back and forth in the sky leaving in their wake a trail of vapor that does not evaporate.
Burden of Proof | David Mitchell’s Soapbox
David Mitchell’s Soapbox and more @ www.youtube.com David Mitchell follows his sustainability rant with one on saving the environment. There is always heated debate about global warming, but until there is proof it doesn’t exist, shouldn’t we be looking for solutions?
Questions for my global warming friends?
I have some questions about global warming?
Many of the posts I read from people who say global warming (or global change) is real say "many scientists BELIEVE it is real", or "the majority of Americans say it is real (70%)"
Don’t we need MORE than opinions, even if they are the opinions of experts?
Also, do you feel we need more EVIDENCE, indisputable evidence? Not like in a civil trial, where we say there is 55% of the evidence one way, and only 45% of evidence the other way, so we will say global warming is real.
.
Last question, is it even possible to prove it is real and that it is caused by humans?
If this issue is REAL, then it is one of the greatest issues facing our planet.
PS- DON’T tell me it is HOT OUT, so global warming is real, as it is the middle of the SUMMER!!!!!
Thank You for the time!
Did you know the largest scientific organization in the world supports the reality of man made global warming?
The American Chemical Society is the world’s largest (PRIVATE) scientific organization with over 160,000 chemistry professionals. It was founded in 1876.

"There is now general agreement among scientific experts that the recent warming trend is real (and particularly strong within the past 20 years), that most of the observed warming is likely due to increased atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations, and that climate change could have serious adverse effects by the end of this century… The overwhelming balance of evidence indicates that reducing greenhouse gas emissions is the prudent and responsible course of action at this time."

madskier,
Show the evidence that the American Chemical Society ever supported that claim.
cashflow,
The difference between an ice age and an interglacial period is four degrees. We are talking about AVERAGE GLOBAL TEMPERATURES here.
gustuch,
Yes and so do scientists. In fact, you wouldn’t even know about them if they hadn’t discovered them.
Now these scientists are telling you that natural effects cannot explain the rapid warming we are going through.
